Treason Allegations Land at DOJ’s Doorstep—Now It’s Bondi’s Move

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has just detonated what may be the most explosive intelligence disclosure in modern U.S. history. In a newly declassified trove of documents, Director Gabbard lays out in detail how top Obama-era officials knowingly falsified intelligence in late 2016 to fabricate the now-debunked Russia collusion narrative that engulfed Donald Trump’s presidency.

These documents show that, contrary to public claims made at the time, the intelligence community had assessed in December 2016 that Russia was not capable of altering vote counts or hacking U.S. election infrastructure. That conclusion was presented in a December 8 briefing prepared for the President’s Daily Briefing (PDB), stating clearly that any Russian interference was highly unlikely to have impacted the election outcome.

Instead of relaying that finding to the American public, the leadership of the intelligence community under President Barack Obama did something else entirely.

Then-DNI James Clapper delayed the internal release of the original PDB, citing “new guidance.” The following day, December 9, 2016, a meeting was held in the White House Situation Room with President Barack Obama, Clapper, CIA Director John Brennan, National Security Advisor Susan Rice, Secretary of State John Kerry, Attorney General Loretta Lynch, FBI Director James Comey, and others. The topic: Russian interference in the 2016 election.

According to Gabbard’s memo, after this meeting, Clapper scrapped the prior assessment and instructed intelligence officials to compile a new report that aligned with the narrative being pushed by the Clinton campaign—a narrative that claimed Trump had won due to Russian interference.

“On Dec 8, 2016, IC officials prepared an assessment for the President’s Daily Brief, finding that Russia ‘did not impact recent U.S. election results’ by conducting cyber attacks on infrastructure,” Gabbard wrote in a thread on X. “The brief concluded that it was ‘highly unlikely’ Russian interference ‘would have resulted in altering any state’s official vote result.'”

The resulting intelligence community assessment (ICA), which was later cited by major media and Congress, reversed the original finding. It adopted claims from the now-discredited Steele Dossier—a document funded by the Clinton campaign and funneled through partisan operatives—that Trump was compromised by the Kremlin. This ICA helped justify the FBI’s surveillance of Trump associates and led to the years-long Mueller investigation, which cost taxpayers $25 million and ultimately found no evidence of conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russia.

What Gabbard is now alleging isn’t political bias—she’s calling it a criminal conspiracy.

In her words: “There was a treasonous conspiracy in 2016 committed by officials at the highest level of our government. Their goal was to subvert the will of the American people and enact what was essentially a years-long coup with the objective of trying to usurp the President from fulfilling the mandate bestowed upon him by the American people.”

The allegations, if proven, carry grave implications. Treason is the only crime explicitly defined in the U.S. Constitution. It involves levying war against the United States or giving aid and comfort to its enemies. The penalty, under federal law, ranges from a minimum five-year prison sentence and permanent disqualification from public office to death.

Though treason charges are historically rare, a more legally grounded route would be conspiracy against rights (18 U.S. Code §241) or seditious conspiracy (18 U.S. Code §2384), which have been used in cases involving organized efforts to undermine federal authority or defraud the government.

Gabbard has made multiple criminal referrals to the Department of Justice. Among them are referrals for New York Attorney General Letitia James and California Senator Adam Schiff for alleged mortgage fraud. As of now, no charges have been filed. The question remains whether Attorney General Pam Bondi will take action.

One of the most jaw-dropping developments involves former FBI Director James Comey, who has repeatedly inserted himself into the political discourse surrounding President Trump. Most recently, Comey posted an image of a noose on X, widely interpreted as a veiled reference to Trump’s fate. He also posted an image of seashells arranged to say “8647,” another thinly veiled murderous threat to the 47th president, Donald Trump. Gabbard’s declassified documents place Comey at the center of the intelligence shift that reversed the original Russia assessment.

Reporter Paul Sperry adds another key detail: that the Hillary Clinton campaign was in ongoing communication with the Obama White House throughout 2016, actively seeding the idea that Trump was compromised by Russia. According to Sperry, this narrative was pre-positioned as insurance in case Clinton lost.

The consequences of that coordinated campaign have been enormous. It paralyzed a sitting president. It contributed to impeachment proceedings. It misled the public and eroded trust in federal institutions. And it led to massive international fallout, including the eventual escalation of war in Ukraine.

For now, the corporate press has remained largely silent on these revelations. But the documents are real. The implications are vast. And the clock is now ticking for the Department of Justice.

Tulsi Gabbard has fired the first shot. The next move belongs to Pam Bondi.
