Two illegal aliens are facing capital murder charges in Dallas, Texas, after they allegedly beat a pregnant 17-year-old girl so badly that her unborn baby boy died — and the state of Texas is treating that baby as exactly what he was: a person. Yeremy Alexander Zapata Aleman, a 17-year-old from Honduras, and Keyner Ariel Calero Jiron, a 20-year-old from Nicaragua, are both staring down the most serious charge the state can throw at them.

But sure, tell us again how these are just "undocumented dreamers" looking for a better life.

According to American Wire News, the attack happened on May 3 at approximately 12:40 AM in a 7-Eleven parking lot in Dallas. The teenage victim was 22 weeks pregnant. Her baby boy didn't survive the assault. On top of the capital murder charges, both suspects are facing felony aggravated assault. Investigators also found cocaine, MDMA, and illegal weapons connected to the suspects. So we're not exactly dealing with valedictorians here.

ICE has confirmed both men are in the country illegally. Let that settle in. Two people who had no legal right to be standing on American soil are now charged with ending a life that had every right to exist.

The grandmother of the victim, Cynthia Trevino, told reporters that the family was at least able to hold the baby before he passed. "It was a blessing for us," Trevino said. Try reading that sentence without your blood pressure spiking. A grandmother calling it a "blessing" that she got to hold her great-grandchild before he died because two illegal aliens allegedly beat his teenage mother in a parking lot.

Trevino also had a message for the suspects: "They're going to live with that for the rest of their life." God willing, that life will be spent behind bars in Texas, where "capital murder" means exactly what it sounds like.

Here's the part the left doesn't want to talk about — and it's the part that matters most. Texas charged this as capital murder. Not assault. Not manslaughter. Capital murder. Because Texas recognizes that an unborn child at 22 weeks is a human being with a right to life. The same legal principle the pro-abortion crowd has spent decades trying to erase.

This is the intersection the Democrats pray you never notice. Their open-border policies let these two into the country. Their abortion-on-demand ideology says the baby wasn't a person anyway. Texas disagrees on both counts.

Every single one of us who voted for stronger borders, who demanded enforcement, who said "this will get people killed" — we weren't being dramatic. We were being prophetic. A 17-year-old girl is recovering from a savage beating. A baby boy is dead. And the two men charged with killing him were never supposed to be here in the first place.

Texas is doing what Texas does — holding the line when Washington won't. Capital murder charges. No plea deals. No sanctuary city nonsense. Just justice, the old-fashioned kind.
