Iran Folds to Trump, Grants Him His Biggest Demand

President Trump just announced that Iran has agreed to surrender its enriched uranium. Not some of it. Not a vague promise to maybe think about reducing their stockpile if we ask nicely and send another pallet of cash. They’re handing it over. The whole thing. A second round of talks could happen as soon as this weekend, and a 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon just kicked in on the same day.

Remember when Obama spent eight years and $150 billion trying to get Iran to behave? Remember the “Iran Deal” that was basically a permission slip for the mullahs to keep enriching uranium as long as they pinky-promised to slow down? That was the foreign policy “masterpiece” that John Kerry flew around the world bragging about. Well, Trump just got more done in a few weeks than Kerry got done in 50,000 frequent flyer miles.

And he didn’t have to bribe anyone to do it.

Let’s rewind for a second so we can fully appreciate this. Under Obama, we loaded up cargo planes — actual cargo planes — with $150 billion worth of cash and gold and flew it to Tehran. We literally handed the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism a blank check and said, “Please be nice.” The Iranians took the money, kept enriching uranium in secret, funded Hezbollah, funded Hamas, and laughed at us the entire time.

Trump’s approach? He parked the Navy on their doorstep, cranked sanctions until their economy was gasping for air, and said, “You’ve got a choice — come to the table or watch your regime collapse.”

They came to the table.

The “diplomacy experts” on CNN spent the last two months telling us that Trump was going to start World War III with Iran. Jake Tapper had that concerned furrowed brow going for weeks. The whole panel at MSNBC was practically measuring the dimensions of their bomb shelters. Rachel Maddow — wherever she is now — probably drew a conspiracy diagram on a napkin connecting Trump’s Iran strategy to a Russian gas pipeline.

And now? Iran is handing over enriched uranium. Not because we asked politely. Not because we sent John Kerry on another wine-and-cheese tour of European capitals. Because they had no choice.

That’s what real diplomacy looks like. You don’t negotiate from weakness. You negotiate from the deck of an aircraft carrier.

The ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon is the cherry on top. That took effect the same day — April 16th — because when the biggest bully in the region suddenly realizes America isn’t bluffing, all the little bullies start behaving too. Hezbollah’s patrons in Tehran just agreed to hand over the one thing that gave them leverage, and now their proxies are scrambling to figure out what comes next.

(Spoiler: what comes next is more losing.)

Here’s what the foreign policy establishment will never admit. Every single “expert” who called Trump reckless, every columnist who wrote that pulling out of the original Iran Deal was a catastrophic mistake, every talking head who predicted nuclear war — they were all wrong. Spectacularly, humiliatingly wrong. The Iran Deal didn’t prevent a nuclear Iran. It subsidized one. Trump tore it up, applied maximum pressure, and now Iran is literally surrendering the goods.

But sure, tell us again how the adults are back in charge when Democrats are in power.

The best part is watching the Democrats try to spin this. They can’t say it’s bad — Iran surrendering enriched uranium is objectively a win for global security. So instead they’re going with the “well, we need to see the details” routine. Classic. When Obama got his deal, they were popping champagne before the ink was dry. When Trump gets actual uranium handed over, suddenly they want to read the fine print.

We see you.

A second round of talks this weekend could lock this thing down even further. And if it does, Trump will have accomplished something that no president in the last 40 years has managed — actually neutralizing Iran’s nuclear threat without firing a shot and without writing them a check.

Obama’s legacy on Iran was a cargo plane full of cash and a deal that wasn’t worth the paper it was printed on. Trump’s legacy is going to be a disarmed Iran and peace deals across the Middle East.

Somebody get John Kerry a tissue.
