Democrats Are Calling Trump a War Criminal for Bombing Iranian Bridges — Apparently They Forgot Bill Clinton Did It for 78 Straight Days

Democrats are losing their collective minds over U.S. strikes on Iranian bridges and railway lines. Senator Chris Murphy actually said — out loud, into a microphone — that “we’ve never had a U.S. president so proudly promise to commit war crimes.” Seth Moulton accused Trump of “gleefully threatening to commit war crimes.” Rashida Tlaib called him a “war criminal in the White House.” Jim McGovern used the word “genocidal.”

Never? Not once? Not a single president? Gee, that’s funny, because we seem to remember a fella named Bill Clinton who bombed bridges in Serbia for SEVENTY-EIGHT CONSECUTIVE DAYS and got a standing ovation from every Democrat in Washington.

Let’s take a little stroll down memory lane, shall we? It’s 1999. Bill Clinton launches Operation Allied Force against Yugoslavia. NATO aircraft fly over 38,000 sorties. Ten thousand of those are attack missions. The targets? Power plants. Oil facilities. Bridges. Factories. Water supplies. The Clinton administration’s stated goal — and we’re quoting here — was to “demolish, destroy, devastate, degrade, and ultimately eliminate the essential infrastructure of Serbia.”

Read that again. “Demolish, destroy, devastate, degrade, and ultimately eliminate.” Every single one of those words would give Chris Murphy a stroke if Trump said them on Truth Social. But when Clinton said them? Standing ovation. Profile in courage. Nobel Peace Prize nomination.

And the International Criminal Tribunal for Yugoslavia? The one that was literally created to investigate war crimes in the region? They looked at Clinton’s bombing campaign and declined to open an investigation. Why? Because they “accepted that the targets had legitimate military utility.” That’s the legal standard, folks. It’s called dual-use targeting. Bridges move troops. Railways move weapons. Power plants run military command centers. You blow them up in a war. That’s how wars have worked since approximately forever.

But wait — we haven’t even gotten to the good part yet.

Barack Obama — the Democrats’ favorite Nobel Peace Prize winner — dropped 26,171 bombs across SEVEN countries during his presidency. Syria. Iraq. Afghanistan. Libya. Yemen. Somalia. Pakistan. The man bombed so many countries he could have started a frequent-flier program for cruise missiles.

And what did Obama target in the fight against ISIS? Oil infrastructure. Refineries. Pipelines. Oil fields. Hundreds of tanker trucks. His own Defense Secretary, Ashton Carter, admitted to Congress that they spent 15 months attacking oil facilities before they finally decided to get serious about it. They even dropped leaflets warning ISIS truck drivers to run away before the bombs hit — because apparently Obama’s rules of engagement included a courtesy heads-up to terrorists.

Did CNN call that a war crime? Did Seth Moulton take to the House floor to denounce Obama’s “gleeful” destruction of civilian oil infrastructure? Did Rashida Tlaib call Obama a “war criminal in the White House”?

Of course not. Because when a Democrat bombs a bridge, it’s “strategic.” When a Democrat destroys an oil refinery, it’s “necessary.” When a Democrat levels infrastructure that serves civilian populations, it’s “the cost of keeping America safe.”

But when Trump hits a railway bridge in Iran that’s moving military equipment to resupply the same regime that SHOT DOWN AN AMERICAN FIGHTER JET? Oh, now suddenly everyone on the Left went to law school and they all have very serious opinions about the Geneva Conventions.

These people are unbelievable.

Here’s what’s actually happening. Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz. They shot down one of our planes. They’ve been enriching uranium and threatening to wipe Israel and the West off the map for decades. Trump hit their military supply routes — bridges, railways, and roads that move weapons and troops — and Iran blinked. They came to the table. They agreed to a ceasefire. The strait is the subject of active negotiations.

That’s not a war crime. That’s a Tuesday in any conflict since World War II.

Pop quiz: What do you call someone who cheers when their guy bombs bridges and screams “war crime” when the other guy does the same thing?

A Democrat.

Senator Murphy, if you’re reading this — and we know you’re not, because you’re too busy drafting your next Trump Derangement Syndrome tweet — maybe crack open a history book before you go on television and say something that makes you look like you have the memory of a goldfish. Clinton did it. Obama did it. Trump is doing it. The only difference is that Trump’s actually getting results.

Iran is at the negotiating table. The ceasefire is holding. And Democrats are so furious that Trump might actually pull this off that they’d rather side with the ayatollahs than admit the strategy is working.

Same as it ever was.
