President Trump appeared on Fox News for a telephone interview with Harris Faulkner on Monday. Historically, US Presidents fade into the sunset when they leave office and we rarely hear from them again. It’s a sort of gentleman’s agreement that US leaders of both political parties have always adhered to. At least, that’s how it used to be until Barack Hussein Obama shattered that norm and tradition by constantly criticizing President Trump publicly. Harris Faulkner was interviewing Trump specifically about the Biden Border Catastrophe
Ms. Faulkner referenced that longstanding tradition of former presidents keeping quiet in one of her questions to Trump. Look at the way she shaped the question:
“Most former presidents don’t speak up about these issues, why did you decide this was important enough to weigh in on?”
Donald Trump has never been one to allow reporters to play their little reporter games with him. His ability to turn a “Gotcha” question around and make a reporter look foolish is amazing. His response nearly had me rolling on the floor:
“You called me.”
It’s funny. It’s based. And it also has a poignant truth to it. Harris Faulkner isn’t the only one calling President Trump these days. We’re all calling him.
The noticeable leadership vacuum in the White House that we’re experiencing right now is unprecedented in American history. We have a global catastrophe occurring on our southern border. China, Russia, North Korea and Iran are running circles around the US State Department, which seems flatfooted and unprepared at every turn. 18 million Americans are still out of work due to the coronavirus. And from the White House we have nothing but excuses, embarrassing doctored greenscreen videos and Medic-Alert memes (“I’ve fallen, and I can’t get up!”).
Joe Biden tumbled three times on the steps to Air Force One last week. I’m sure you saw the video by now, or one of the thousands of memes mocking the event. A second video, much more terrifying, emerged a few days later.
Joe Biden was on the tarmac at a runway somewhere and just started to wander off. Secret Service agents ran to intercept him like a toddler that was about to run off the recess playground into traffic. Kamala Harris had to walk up to Joe Biden and pet him on the shoulder, until they finally got him pointed at the Marine One chopper. He obediently shuffled over there once she had calmed him down.
The border catastrophe had just exploded over the weekend. Both Project Veritas and Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX) released leaked photographs from inside the Biden Border Concentration Camps for Migrant Children™.
Disgusting doesn’t begin to describe it. Kids sleeping on concrete floors in cages, with nothing but those ridiculous tin-foil blankets. Not enough food. Not enough showers. Not enough toilets. At least 50 of them are quarantined in a plastic tent after testing positive for COVID.
Putting those kids on flights back to Central American would be more humane than the conditions the federal government is keeping them in, and much cheaper for the US in the long run.
Joe Biden reportedly said over the weekend that he’ll visit the border “at some point.” Uh huh.
On Monday, Biden “called a lid” at 1:00 in the afternoon and took the rest of the day off. No more questions or events. Back to the basement. It’s also obvious that things won’t change under Kamala Harris, if the “Biden sunset” happens any day now.
Our southern border with Mexico has never been under better control than it was just a few short weeks ago under Donald Trump’s administration. Americans have been begging the federal government for a wall on that border since at least 1910, when Pancho Villa’s banditos were raiding American cities and killing American civilians. Donald Trump was the first president to take that request seriously, and he delivered in ways that most people didn’t even understand to this day.
Our country desperately needs leadership right now, and yet the one leader who came up with real border control solutions had his leadership role stolen out from under him. When you see the deplorable conditions those foreign kids are being detained in, it’s no wonder the media is calling Donald Trump.
