If you’ve checked in on the Democratic Party lately, you might be wondering if you accidentally wandered into a bad improv show where everyone’s trying to out-weep each other for a participation trophy. Gone are the days of actual politics or policy proposals — today’s Democrats are too busy filming shaky TikToks and holding toddler-level tantrums in committee hearings to do anything remotely useful.
Seriously, who’s the target audience here? Normal people are too busy working, raising families, and trying to survive Bidenomics to care that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is crying into a ring light about the green energy transition. Again.
We’ve reached a point where Democrats aren’t even pretending to govern. They’re LARPing as revolutionaries in a never-ending high school drama class, where the assignment is always “make everything about Trump.” And the performances are getting worse.
Let’s take a real-life example: Rep. Delia Ramirez, Democrat of Illinois, recently tried to get herself arrested for blocking ICE agents during a lawful deportation. She filmed herself throwing a fit outside an immigration center, demanding to see the detainees, only to be politely ignored by the very agents she claims to support — most of whom are, ironically, Latino themselves. It’s all theater. No one’s listening. Not even ICE.
Or how about that time Senate Democrats like Chris Murphy decided to film themselves pacing dramatically around Capitol Hill after a school shooting — not to propose legislation, mind you — but just to feel something on camera. Murphy acted like he was in a soap opera. Meanwhile, cities like Chicago, run by Democrat machines for decades, rack up body counts every weekend and nobody bats an eye.
Then you get the videos where some attention-seeking politician decides to physically confront or get into a shouting match with a Trump official as they’re leaving Whole Foods—probably not the smartest move given recent events. And it’s always some nobody congressman from a district you couldn’t find on a map. When voters watched Senator Alex Padilla literally charge Homeland Security Secretary Kirsti Noem who was speaking at a press conference, most of there reactions were “Who’s this a-hole?” Not “Go get ‘em cowboy!” The imagery of Padilla being taken down to the floor by law enforcement to protect Secretary Noem didn’t solve a single issue for voters or make Democrats look good. It’s all performative at this point.
And you know what’s extra rich? These same Democrats will preach that “no one is above the law” while simultaneously melting down when one of their own gets held accountable. When George Floyd rioters fire bombed government buildings, looted stores, and destroyed businesses during Democrats “summer of love” in 2020, Kamala Harris actually bailed them out. But when President Trump pardons January 6 protesters we’re supposed to believe he is literally Hitler. Ok.
Then there’s Gavin Newsom — or as we like to call him, Governor Hair Gel. He spends half his time posting cringey anti-Trump tweets while California burns, both figuratively and literally. The man lost a Ninth Circuit court case — yes, even the most liberal court on the West Coast laughed at his attempt to take control of the California National Guard to make a political point. But did he admit defeat? Of course not. He tweeted that he won. It was the legal version of getting dunked on and then pretending you scored.
This all raises the real question: are these politicians even trying to win over voters anymore, or is it just a contest to see who can shriek the loudest about Trump for the most likes on social media?
Remember when Democrat Rep. Jamaal Bowman pulled a literal fire alarm in Congress because he didn’t want to vote on a Republican bill? He then claimed he thought it was a door opener. That’s not just bad acting — that’s insulting everyone’s intelligence. And yes, he’s still in office.
Meanwhile, Trump’s over here racking up wins in court, rallying support from independents, and leading in national polls — even among Black and Hispanic voters. You’d think Democrats would be a little introspective about why their messaging isn’t landing.
And don’t even get me started on the “Big Bad Billionaires” nonsense. Democrats cry that Trump’s tax policies are helping billionaires — as if Nancy Pelosi isn’t worth over $100 million herself. The people working diner shifts will all significantly benefit from Trump’s no-tax on-tips as will factory workers whose overtime pay won’t be taxed anymore. But please tell me again how Donald Trump is literally Hitler.
At the end of the day, all this faux outrage, all the screaming and sobbing into cameras, isn’t meant for you. It’s for them. It’s an echo chamber of elite liberals auditioning for clout points in the progressive Hunger Games. They’re not trying to persuade voters — they’re trying to impress each other, like theater kids rehearsing in an empty auditorium.
So let them put on their little shows. Let them cry about Trump while the real world keeps spinning. Meanwhile, the rest of us — the working, thinking, fed-up majority — are grabbing our popcorn, voting red, and leaving these Democrat drama queens on read.
