Well folks, just when you thought the world couldn’t get any more unhinged, we’ve now entered the era of “parking spot rage.” That’s right, a Florida man was arrested after allegedly using his car as a battering ram against a pregnant woman — all because she was holding a parking space for her husband. And no, this isn’t a rejected “Curb Your Enthusiasm” episode. This is real life in 2025. Buckle up.
Let’s set the scene. October 3, Coconut Creek, Florida. A place where palm trees sway, wine flows freely, and apparently, grown men treat parking spaces like they’re the last lifeboat on the Titanic. Outside Cooper’s Hawk Winery and Restaurant, 45-year-old Brian Papula decided that chivalry was dead and so was common decency. According to police, he spotted a prime parking spot near the restaurant and made a beeline for it. The only problem? A woman — clearly pregnant — was standing in the space, reserving it for her husband.
Now, for anyone with a functioning conscience, that’s usually where you stop the car, roll down the window, and say something polite like, “No problem, I’ll find another spot.” But not Brian. Oh no, this guy apparently thinks “yielding to pedestrians” is just a suggestion. Instead, he allegedly kept creeping forward like a villain in slow-motion, ultimately striking the woman in the knee with his vehicle. She stumbled, lost her shoe, and told police that if she hadn’t moved, she would’ve been run over. Because nothing says “I’m in a rush for my pinot noir” like vehicular assault.
And what was Brian’s excuse? According to the arrest report, he told police, “You can’t save spots,” as if that’s a legal precedent now. Sorry, Brian, but parking etiquette doesn’t give you a license to commit aggravated battery. Especially not against a pregnant woman. You’d think that would be obvious, but apparently not to our Florida felon of the week.
Police didn’t buy his half-hearted denial, and neither should we. They said the woman’s pregnancy was “obvious” and that the move was “willing and intentional.” Translation: this wasn’t an accident. This wasn’t confusion. This was entitlement with a side of sociopathy. And now Brian Papula gets to enjoy Broward County Jail accommodations and a felony charge of aggravated battery on a pregnant person. That’s about as serious as it gets without involving the FBI.
Naturally, his lawyer hasn’t commented. Probably too busy trying to figure out how to spin “I was in a rush” into a defense that won’t get laughed out of court. Good luck with that.
Now, let’s zoom out a bit. This kind of behavior doesn’t come out of nowhere. We’ve spent years watching the Left erode basic values like self-restraint, respect for life, and personal responsibility. From “my body, my choice” to “you do you,” we’ve created a culture where feelings trump facts and entitlement trumps ethics. So is it really any surprise that some people now think it’s okay to nudge a pregnant woman out of the way with a bumper? After all, if human life is disposable in the womb, why would it matter in a parking lot?
Let this be a wake-up call, America. We don’t just have a crime problem. We have a culture problem. And it’s high time we get back to the basics — respect for life, respect for others, and maybe, just maybe, letting pregnant women cross the parking lot without fearing for their kneecaps. If Democrats had their way, there’d probably be a taxpayer-funded program for “parking equity” where everyone gets a front-row spot and no one gets hurt — except, of course, the unborn.
But under President Trump, we stand for law and order, and that means people like Brian Papula don’t get a pass for turning a parking lot into a demolition derby. Let’s hope justice parks right in his driveway.
