First Republican Congressman to Say Trump Committed Impeachable Offenses has Shady Impeachment Voting Record Himself

Justin AmashPoor little Palestinian anchor baby Justin Amash! The “Republican” from Michigan has been in Congress since 2011, but the mainstream media has been pretending all year that Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) is the big groundbreaking first Palestinian to ever serve in the House of Representatives. (For the record, John Sununu of New Hampshire has them both beaten by more than a decade.)

You’d think that the media hatred of him would give Rep. Amash more of a clue as to how he should prioritize his life, his legislation and his loyalties, but that would be giving Amash too much credit.

As the CNN, MSNBC, the New York Times, and Huffington Post’s favorite “conservative” in Congress, Amash managed to make big headlines over the weekend by becoming the “first Republican to call for impeachment” after the release of the Muller Dossier.

Amash is now basking in the glow of the headlines. He was on the front of the Trump-hating Drudge Report all weekend, and also featured on CNN and MSNBC.

Amash posted a series of tweets over the weekend in which he claimed, “Contrary to [Attorney General] Barr’s portrayal, Mueller’s report reveals that President Trump engaged in specific actions and a pattern of behavior that meet the threshold for impeachment.”

By calling for Trump’s impeachment, Justin Amash can now walk around like a big boy on Capitol Hill, because the media says he’s the “first” at something. And it only took anchor baby Amash two years of calling for Trump’s impeachment for the media to finally declare him “first!”

A point that the media is now ignoring about the Huffington Post’s favorite little boy is that Amash was also the “first” (and one of the only) Republicans to call for Trump’s impeachment for firing an Executive branch employee – James Comey – in 2017.

For all of his personal claims to be a “constitutional conservative,” Justin Amash certainly doesn’t seem to understand that it is perfectly legal and constitutional for the head of the Executive branch to fire his own employees, for any reason or for no reason at all.

Let’s take a quick look at Rep. Justin Amash’s voting record, so we can determine how seriously we should take his calls for the impeachment of the most conservative president in the last century:

Amash voted to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act. The only reason “gay marriage” is even permitted in the United States is because of court decisions. Every time the people have been allowed to vote on redefining marriage to include homosexual unions, the people have voted against it overwhelmingly. That includes in deep-blue states like California.

In July 2018, when Democrats were calling for ICE to be abolished, the Republican-led House passed a resolution in support of ICE. Justin Amash was the lone Republican to join the Democrats in voting “No” on the resolution. Hey, is anyone sensing a theme when voters elect immigrants or their anchor babies to Congress? Anyone?

In February of 2019, House Democrats sponsored a resolution to try to block President Trump from appropriating unspent military funds to pay for the wall on the southern border. The bill had only one Republican co-sponsor and indeed, only one Republican supporter: Justin Amash.

Other popular “conservative” positions held by Justin Amash: He is opposed to defunding Planned Parenthood and has voted in opposition to Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense – a program that protects Israeli civilians from rocket attacks from Amash’s Palestinian relatives.

Amash also voted against trying ISIS fighters for international war crimes. He has sponsored a bill to legalize marijuana in all 50 states. But he’s perfectly fine with the secret FISA warrant process!

The Huffington Post wrote a gushing article about anchor baby Amash back during the 2016 presidential primaries, titled, “The One House Republican Who Can’t Stop Criticizing Donald Trump.” The Huffington Post had apparently never heard of Paul Ryan.

When the mainstream media invented one of its more hilarious conspiracy theories in 2018, in which Donald Trump was “planning to pardon himself,” Justin Amash was the only Republican in Congress who was dumb enough to take the bait. Amash told the Huffington Post that he “definitively would support impeachment” if Trump pardoned himself.

Nothing should convince voters of a Republican’s conservative bona fides more than the Huffington Post having his cell number on speed dial!

In all fairness to “staunch conservative” Justin Amash, there have been many presidential misdeeds that took place in which Amash did not call for impeachment. For example, when the president was firing military commanders and pastors from every service branch for exercising their Christian faith – a clear violation of the First Amendment – Amash never called for impeachment.

Likewise, when the president covered up the events surrounding the attack on the American embassy in Benghazi, Libya, which led to the deaths of four Americans, Amash didn’t call for impeachment.

When the president directed the IRS to target his political opponents to help ensure his reelection, Justin Amash didn’t think that rose to the level of impeachment.

When the president knowingly allowed his Secretary of State to operate an illegal, off-the-books network server from her bathroom closet, and the president even used a fake email address to communicate with her, Justin Amash didn’t think that was impeachable.

Nor did Congressman Amash think it was impeachable when the president directed his Attorney General to sell firearms to a Mexican drug cartel, for the express purpose of getting Americans killed to undermine the Second Amendment.

When the president negotiated secret “side deals” with the mad mullahs of Iran and paid them huge sums of cash without any authorization or oversight from Congress, Justin Amash didn’t think that was impeachable.

When the president single-handedly rewrote American immigration laws via executive order, by declaring amnesty for millions of illegal aliens and even printing work permits for them, Justin Amash was perfectly fine with that executive overreach. He never called for impeachment then.

Of course, those incidents all involved President Barack Hussein Obama, a man who has always had a strange affinity for the Palestinians.

So, it’s not like Justin Amash is inconsistent or anything! He’s called for the impeachment of President Trump multiple times, and now he’s finally enjoying media attention for it.

Nothing that Obama ever did seemed to meet Amash’s personal standard for impeachment, however. Not even once. There’s not even a rumor that he might have whispered such a suggestion to someone. That tells you exactly how much credit you should give his calls for impeachment now.
