This Dangerous Court Ruling Against the Second Amendment Could Infect the Nation

In the VERY blue state of Hawaii, the Supreme Court ruled that residents have no real right to bear arms – setting a dangerous precedent which other states throughout the country could use to DESTROY the Second Amendment once and for all.

Hawaii’s highest court decided to infringe on the rights of gun owners in the state by claiming that gun ownership interfered with the “Spirit of Aloha.”

The court was called upon to make a decision after one resident, Christopher Wilson was charged with a felony for carrying a loaded gun without a concealed carry permit.

Wilson’s legal team sought to have the charges dismissed by arguing that they were a violation of his right to bear arms guaranteed by both the U.S. Constitution AND the Hawaii Constitution.

In 2022 a circuit court judge granted Wilson’s motion to dismiss the charges – agreeing that they were a violation of his rights.

Along those lines, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in 2022 that American citizens right to keep and bear arms for self-defense needed no demonstration of a “special need” in order to concealed carry.

However, Hawaii’s liberal Supreme Court justices didn’t seem to agree.

The state court argued that only “well-regulated militias” are able to concealed carry according to their interpretation of the Second Amendment.

When the Hawaii Constitution was first ratified, courts throughout the nation’s history had always interpreted and applied the Second Amendment with the militia-centric view,” the court wrote. “This was what everyone thought.”

While the U.S. Supreme Court has REPEATEDLY ruled that the Second Amendment gives individuals the right to possess firearms for self-defense, the Hawaii couldn’t care less.

We hold that in Hawaii there is no state constitutional right to carry a firearm in public,” it stated.

They added, “The spirit of Aloha clashes with a federally-mandated lifestyle that lets citizens walk around with deadly weapons during day-to-day activities.”

These justices made it clear that they hold some very obvious anti-gun opinions and in doing so, went out of their way to show a blatant disregard for both the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. Constitution which is supposed to be the “supreme law of the land.”

Using the ridiculous excuse that they wanted to keep their laws in line with the “spirit of Aloha” other liberal states in the country could similarly attack the Second Amendment.

This is a VERY slippery slope and one which could tear the country into two parts – states which support the constitution and states which want to see it destroyed.
