Democrats Bury Election Autopsy, Raise Eyebrows Instead

Washington D.C., USA - October 24 2022: Kamala Harris addressing the media from a presidential podium in the East Room of the White House

You know things are bad when even the Democrats don’t want to read their own report card. The Democratic National Committee has officially decided to shove its 2024 election autopsy report into the political equivalent of a sock drawer, slam it shut, and pretend it doesn’t exist. It’s like a student torching their final exam before the teacher can grade it — and then claiming they’re “just moving forward.”

For those unfamiliar, an election “autopsy” is supposed to be an honest, unflinching look at what went wrong. It’s like a military debriefing after a mission, except in this case, the mission was a complete disaster, and the Democrats are acting like they didn’t even go to war. DNC Chair Ken Martin, who initially promised transparency, pulled a complete political Houdini this week. He said, “We are aligned on what’s important, and that’s learning from the past and winning the future.” Translation: We learned nothing, we’re ignoring the past, and please stop asking.

The Democrats’ refusal to release their own postmortem has prompted some in their own ranks to raise eyebrows — and not in the Botox kind of way. Even CNN, the usual safe space for liberal spin, had its anchor Kasie Hunt wondering aloud if this move might just be another reason the American people don’t trust the Democratic Party. You think?

Rep. Jamie Raskin, still recovering from the shock of losing, summed up the DNC’s deep analysis with a shrug: “What went wrong is, we lost the election.” That’s not an autopsy, that’s a line from a bad break-up song.

Meanwhile, Democrat strategist Xochitl Hinojosa jumped in with some classic spin, insisting, “We all know why Dems lost in 2024.” Do we? Because their own party apparently doesn’t want to talk about it. But the rest of us remember it clearly: Kamala Harris and Joe Biden made a tag-team of incompetence, tone-deaf policies, and one gaffe after another. Kamala couldn’t sell a glass of water in the desert, and Biden was a walking teleprompter malfunction.

And let’s not forget why this autopsy really got buried. According to party insiders like Jeff Weaver and Rebecca Katz, the Democrats didn’t want to look too closely because the person who would come out looking worst is the current queen-in-exile, Kamala Harris. Weaver flatly stated that Harris benefits from dodging scrutiny. And he’s right. Kamala was the Titanic of political candidates: overhyped, underprepared, and went down fast.

The DNC even made sure the autopsy didn’t touch Biden’s disastrous decision to run again, his spectacular collapse on the campaign trail, or the backroom scheming that handed the nomination to Harris. That’s like doing a crime scene investigation and skipping over the blood and fingerprints. The Washington Post confirmed that Martin didn’t think those issues would “likely present in a future election.” That’s not foresight — that’s willful blindness.

Even some of the usual liberal loyalists are scratching their heads. Lis Smith, a former Buttigieg advisor, nailed it when she said, “I suspect the reasons why this isn’t being released are precisely the reasons why it should be released.” Exactly. The Democrats aren’t hiding the autopsy because it says nothing — they’re hiding it because it says everything.

On Fox News, Tyrus summed up the Democrats’ logic perfectly. “You don’t sit down and break out the, ‘let’s watch the video when Mom left Dad at Christmas for his uncle.’” No kidding. The 2024 election wasn’t just a loss — it was a public humiliation, and the DNC is treating it like a family secret you don’t talk about at Thanksgiving.

So here we are in 2025, and the Democratic Party has learned nothing, admitted nothing, and changed nothing. But hey, at least they’re “aligned on what’s important” — sweeping their failures under the rug and hoping no one notices the giant, vote-shaped lump.
