One of the things that nanny-state liberals hate about President Donald Trump is that he actually listens to his base. If we let him know that we’re unhappy with something he’s doing, he’ll course-correct immediately. A few days ago, President Trump announced that he was going to have ICE exempt restaurants, hotels, and Big Ag industries from immigration raids. The noise from the base was overwhelming. We didn’t like it, the policy wasn’t fair, and it wasn’t what we voted for in November 2024. Trump listened, and now the illegals once again have nowhere to hide.
We’ve known since 2017 that President Trump listens and responds to us. He has a special relationship with his base like no other politician we’ve ever seen.
Trump suddenly announced in 2017 that he was going to ban vaping. He just said it out of the blue, as if it had just popped into his head. Part of me agreed with Trump on that idea. Vaping is gross. When I step out of a building and some vaper blasts a giant cloud of their disgusting lung juice near me, I want to shove them in traffic.
But banning it? Come on, Trump. That’s the sort of thing that nanny-state libs like Pothead Bill DeBlasio do with Big Gulps.
The base pushed back, and then Trump immediately changed his mind. This has happened many times, and it happened again this week.
The amnesty for illegal aliens was pushed after ICE raided Glenn Valley Foods in Omaha, NE, last week. They busted 76 illegals working at the food plant. Many were deported and shipped out of the country within 24 hours.
USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins told President Trump a ridiculous lie that our food supply would collapse if he kept scooping up illegals at Big Ag companies. Rollins is a neocon RINO who worked for the George W. Bush administration years ago. She firmly believes the globalist lie that Americans are too lazy to do manual labor jobs, so we need illegal aliens inside our country.
Isn’t having your kittycat barbecued by a Haitian better than starving because people are too lazy to work at a meat-packing plant, American?
Well, guess what?
When the word got out in Omaha that Glenn Valley Foods would have to hire American workers to fill those 76 jobs, over 700 Americans who live in Omaha showed up on Monday to fill out applications. They were lined up around the block.
I met an incredibly stupid person once when I was in college back in the 1990s. He was a student from Washington, DC, and had never been west of the Rockies before. We were shooting the breeze one time and he told me he thought it was amazing that the government pays employees to go out in all the forests to feed and water the deer, elk, and bears that we had in the Pacific Northwest.
I asked him, “How do you suppose the animals survived all those centuries before the federal government existed?”
Beliefs about illegal aliens are similarly stupid.
Most of the 40+ million illegals in America came here in the past 25 years, mainly during the Bush, Obama, and Biden administrations. Half of them arrived just in the past four years.
Who do liberals think did all the jobs in the ag industry, in the hotels, and in the restaurants before these people showed up a few minutes ago?
We did!
The American people did those jobs!
If you didn’t want to mow your own lawn, you just paid the neighbor kid. Liberals expect us to believe that there are zero teenagers in Chicago who wouldn’t gladly wash dishes in a restaurant for minimum wage.
“We have to have the illegals!”
No, we don’t. The situation in Omaha proves it. 700 Americans showed up to apply for 76 jobs, once the illegals were kicked out of the country and the employer was forced to hire Americans.
Trump obviously saw what just happened in Omaha, and he knows that his base was disgusted about a potential amnesty for those industries. The American people want those jobs. They should be for our people.
Now if his base could just break through the noise on the Iran situation…
