I take back some (not all, but some) of the nasty things I’ve said about what terrible Supreme Court Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett have been. In a historically unprecedented act, a paper pusher on Justice Sonia Sotomayor’s staff publicly leaked a majority draft opinion from the court to Politico. That draft opinion overturns Roe v. Wade and Casey v. Planned Parenthood.

Naturally, the court building has been surrounded by crazy people ever since. Since a lot of stupid people will be sounding off on this “controversy” over the next few weeks, here are a few initial thoughts on what just happened.

It’s horrible that any of us even know about this draft decision right now. This has never happened before in the history of the US Supreme Court. Not ever. No draft decision has ever been publicly leaked, months before the decision is finalized, since America has been a country.

Pause for a second and think about government leaks. Has Congress ever leaked something classified to the public that it shouldn’t have? Oh, hell yes, it has. From the January 6 Committee to leaky Pencil-Neck Adam Schiff to Nancy Pelosi to Eric Swalwell to… well, pick the lunatic suffering from Advanced Trump Derangement Syndrome in the Congress, and they’ve been selectively leaking stuff for years.

What about the Executive branch? Yep. Throughout the entire Trump presidency, the White House became a leaky sieve anytime some leftist thought they could gain a political advantage. Leaks were never-ending in hopes of hurting Trump, and one of those leaks even led to a fake impeachment trial (the Ukraine phone call).

But there’s never been a leak from the Supreme Court. The Justices and their staffers have to be able to trust one another to do their job. The independent, non-partisan SCOTUSblog described the breach like this:

“It’s impossible to overstate the earthquake this will cause inside the Court, in terms of the destruction of trust among the Justices and staff. This leak is the gravest, most unforgivable sin.”

Some anti-America leftist zealot on Sonia Sotomayor’s staff has just, not surprisingly, blown up one of the final institutions in America where liberals and conservatives could still trust one another and even be friends. Most of us always thought it was kind of weird that Antonin Scalia and Ruth Bader Ginsburg were the best of friends personally.

But isn’t that the kind of America that most of us would have preferred to live in? A place where liberals and conservatives could still get along with each other, even if they disagreed on political issues? Nowadays, Trump supporters have to worry that one of their deranged liberal cousins will stick a fork in their collarbone at every Thanksgiving dinner.

The Supreme Court was the last institution in America where liberals and conservatives were still nice to one another. Unsurprisingly, a liberal maniac with no respect for America’s institutions just blew that up.

Another reason why this leak is so terrible is because privacy in regard to Supreme Court decisions is absolutely necessary. This was a draft opinion in which 5 Justices agreed to overturn Roe, and 4 disagreed. But that could now change.

While Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett occasionally get decisions correct, they’re not brave people. They’re cowards who often put the Founding Fathers to shame with their unwillingness to upset the New York Times’ woke editorial staff. They wouldn’t even pause an obviously stolen election in 2020 for the good of the country, because they were just too cowardly.

If screaming leftists show up at Brett Kavanaugh’s house today and start threatening to burn his wife and children at the stake, he’ll cave and condemn millions of babies to die, because he is a coward. This is why Supreme Court draft opinions are supposed to be kept secret until the final draft is released. Public opinion is not supposed to be a part of the decision process. But it will be on this case, for the first time in US history.

Kavanaugh or Barrett are now subject to having their opinions changed, because the entire mainstream media, Hollywood, Big Tech, the pharmaceutical industry that relies on chopping up babies to make vaccines, and every other leftist institution will now be gunning for them. Maybe they’ll stay the course, but… I’m not hopeful. We’re probably going to be disappointed with this 5-4 decision to overturn Roe being turned into a 4-5 or even a 3-6 decision to preserve abortion.
