Summer of Chaos: Democrat-Funded Riots Ignite California — And They Blame Trump

This past weekend, Los Angeles erupted into violent chaos as far-left rioters set fire to buildings and cars, vandalized property, and attacked law enforcement. Yet Democrat politicians turned a blind eye, allowing the city to burn while doing nothing to stop it.

The only leader who stepped up to restore order was President Donald Trump — and now, shockingly, he’s being blamed for the very violence he tried to stop.

The unrest began after Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents conducted coordinated raids, arresting roughly 45 illegal aliens. In retaliation, radical left agitators unleashed a wave of destruction — throwing large rocks at ICE vehicles barreling down highways, torching cars, blocking traffic, looting businesses, and waving foreign flags as they terrorized the streets.

As flames engulfed neighborhoods, the Trump administration deployed 2,000 National Guard troops to contain the violence and protect L.A. residents. Meanwhile, Democrat leaders in California sat idly by, seemingly amused as their city burned.

President Trump fired back on Truth Social, declaring, “If Governor Gavin Newscum of California and Mayor Karen Bass of Los Angeles can’t do their jobs — which everyone knows they can’t — then the Federal Government will step in and solve the problem. RIOTS & LOOTERS, the way it should be solved!!!”

The riots were organized and orchestrated by the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles (CHIRLA), an organization that receives a significant portion of its funding from none other than the California state government.

Even worse, the remainder of CHIRLA’s funds comes from ActBlue — a controversial Democratic fundraising platform notorious for laundering foreign money into radical left causes.

Make no mistake: these riots are fully funded and sanctioned by the Democratic Party. Yet the left’s standard playbook is in full swing — blaming President Trump for the chaos.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, who has a tendency to be out of town when her city needs her the most, called these violent riots “peaceful protests” and insisted any violence was “provoked by the Trump administration.”

“People should exercise their right to protest — that’s their First Amendment right,” Bass claimed. “But people should also exercise that right peacefully. We do not want to play into the administration’s hands. We’re working with officials, organizing resources, but what we’re seeing in Los Angeles is chaos provoked by the administration.”

Bass repeated a false claim first spread by CHIRLA activists that ICE had conducted a workplace raid at a Home Depot location — a statement later corrected by major outlets like The New York Times. Whether she was misinformed or deliberately spreading falsehoods remains unclear.

She doubled down by accusing Trump of pushing “another agenda,” rather than prioritizing public safety.

“This is about another agenda,” Bass insisted. “It’s not about safety. There’s no plan. No policy. I want the people of Los Angeles to know we stand with all Angelinos — no matter where you were born.”

Bass even called for continued “outrage” — encouraging chaos to persist.

California Governor Gavin Newsom echoed her downplaying of the violence, claiming the LAPD had the riots under control and describing the unrest as “mostly peaceful.”

“Despite protests already being managed by @LAPDHQ, President Trump is escalating the situation by threatening to deploy roughly 500 active-duty Marines to the streets of Los Angeles,” Newsom tweeted. “Los Angeles: Remain peaceful. Don’t fall into the trap extremists are hoping for.”

But LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell painted a very different picture.

“This violence I’ve witnessed is disgusting,” McDonnell said. “It has escalated since the beginning of this incident.” Officers have been attacked with incendiary devices capable of killing.

Governor Newsom, facing backlash, accused Trump of “authoritarian tendencies” for deploying the National Guard to restore order.

But anyone who remembers the 2020 “Summer of Love” — when Black Lives Matter and Antifa riots, funded by Democrats, destroyed Minneapolis — knows exactly what is happening here.

The Democrats are weaponizing chaos to paint Trump as a dictator — using violence and destruction to justify their political narratives.

How many more cities must burn before we say enough is enough?
