Lawmakers in Congress are quietly preparing for a “mass casualty event” which should have everyone concerned that SOMETHING BIG is about to happen.

Representatives in Congress are considering passing a Constitutional Amendment which would allow for governors to directly appoint people to the House representatives in the event of a sudden mass vacancy.

According to the Constitution in its current state, vacancies in the House must be filled through elections whereas open Senate seats can be filled by appointment.

After 9/11 a law was passed which would enable “rapid elections” if more than 100 House seats suddenly became vacant. This is supposed to keep the government running smoothly by helping to expedite the process in the event of an emergency.

But evidently lawmakers seem to think something is on the horizon and no longer believe this post-9/11 law will suffice.

Under the new system as they imagine it, the people would get ZERO say in who the officials representing them.

Can you guess who is pushing for this change? OF COURSE IT’S THE DEMOCRATS.

Rep. Derek Kilmer (D-WA), a leading proponent of the bill, and during a recent hearing he stated that “Congress hasn’t fully considered the implications of a mass casualty event affecting members and the impact it would have on our ability to function in a time of need.”

The proposed piece of legislation requires lawmakers to create a list of replacements and then the state’s governor chooses from that list if something were to happen to the representative.

HOWEVER, the governor could decide that those replacement picks are “not qualified,” which is where things get a bit hairy and the concern is that a governor would be able to install someone in the seat who they feel is “more qualified.”

In other words, Governors are given free rein to decide who actually gets put in the seat.

Kilmer is pushing for the bill to be called to the floor for a vote.

Considering the rise in political violence against Republicans, evidenced by the multiple assassination attempts on President Donald Trump, the fact that the Democrats are pushing for this is EXTREMELY alarming.

If what they’re proposing becomes the law then a “mass casualty event” which targets Republican reps. specifically would, rather conveniently, be a MASSIVE win for the Democratic party.

Take the state of California for example, with its 52 seats in the House of Representatives. 12 of those seats are held by Republicans which is responsible for the Republicans having a slim 9 seat majority in the House.

If there were to be a “mass casualty event” that took those 12 Republicans off the board then the state’s radical left wing governor Gavin Newsom (D) could simply replace those Republicans with Democrats – opportunistically seizing on a tragedy to put more power in the hands of the Democratic party.

Do you see why this is so concerning as the Democrats and their media allies continue to say that all Republicans are “threats” that need to be dealt with?

They wouldn’t just “all of a sudden” be deciding to change a law which was last changed only after the unprecedented tragedy that was 9/11. Democrats are planning something sinister.

The Democrats truly are evil and power-hungry enough to pull off a move like this – after all, we are talking about the same people who control the Department of Justice that has effectively placed a $150K bounty on President Trump’s head.
