Shortly after President Biden was sworn into office, the Chinese government announced sanctions against 28 Trump administration leaders, including former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. Pompeo had recently called China’s treatment of Uyghur Muslims genocide.
The full list of sanctioned Americans included, “Michael R. Pompeo, Peter K. Navarro, Robert C. O’Brien, David R. Stilwell, Matthew Pottinger, Alex M. Azar II, Keith J. Krach, and Kelly D. K. Craft of the Trump administration as well as John R. Bolton and Stephen K. Bannon.” All the named individuals worked in the Trump administration or were Trump supporters, clearly showing the connection of these individuals with China’s dislike for the former president.
The act also stated, “These individuals and their immediate family members are prohibited from entering the mainland, Hong Kong and Macao of China. They and companies and institutions associated with them are also restricted from doing business with China.”
While Biden and son roam free after millions of dollars from Chinese businesses, Trump’s supporters can no longer visit the nation or conduct business with it.
The Chinese sanction clearly provided the reasons for the action, stating “anti-China politicians in the United States, out of their selfish political interests and prejudice and hatred against China and showing no regard for the interests of the Chinese and American people, have planned, promoted and executed a series of crazy moves which have gravely interfered in China’s internal affairs, undermined China’s interests, offended the Chinese people, and seriously disrupted China-U.S. relations.” In other words, some Trump-supporting American leaders ticked off the wrong people in China.
But China is the true bad guy here. Anyone with a spine should take a stand against the genocide and ethnic persecution of over a million people. Pompeo especially took to Twitter in his final days to report numerous concerning actions by the communist nation.
In addition, Pompeo ended his term in the State Department with an announcement that ended official sanctions with Taiwan, a move angering China in its pursuit of further control of the area. Pompeo further noted, “Taiwan shows what a free China could achieve,” a comment directly attacking the harsh controls of the CCP government (Chinese Communist Party).
But everything will be much different under Democrat president Joe Biden. Following the election, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said the U.S. and China could “return to the right track.”
What track is that? More spying on U.S. Congressmen? Influencing American college campuses? Slaughtering more of its own citizens—with American government approval?
Or maybe the focus will be more financial? Don’t forget, Joe’s son Hunter Biden was due significant pay from Chinese firms, including $10 million in 2017. Just because the mainstream mafia won’t cover the story doesn’t mean the Biden family business didn’t happen in the communist nation—all while Joe Biden was working toward becoming the next president.
But at least a few American political leaders won’t have to worry about traveling to China anymore. If they were still planning to fly near Wuhan after the coronavirus, the communist government has officially ended their flight.
In the end, it will be China’s relationship with the new administration that will need to be the focus of patriotic Americans. If not, our own nation will start looking more like the CCP in the days ahead.
