California’s Lawmakers Banned from Traveling to Four More States

California’s Democrats may soon not be able to leave the state. A new travel ban issued by the Golden State’s government bans state-funded travel to five new states for laws allegedly “targeting transgender youth.”

The four new states include Arkansas, Florida, Montana, North Dakota and West Virginia. The five red states have been added to 12 states from 2016, including Alabama, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee and Texas.

California’s lawmakers can now no longer travel on government funds to 17 states.

Something doesn’t seem quite right. As the state bans travel, California’s population declined in 2020 for the first time on record. One of the most beautiful states in the nation can’t get people to stay within its borders.

Between its leftist government, open border and high taxes, California may have to build its own wall to keep its people from leaving the state.

But the new legislation won’t stop Americans from voting with their feet. Instead of more people moving to the Left Coast state to enjoy its woke laws the states with the highest population growth are nearly all conservative. Number one? Florida, a state on California’s list of banned locations.

The Daily Wire reported that Republican Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s spokesman John Wittman fired back, “California may be able to stop their state employees, but they can’t stop all the businesses that are fleeing over taxation and regulation, and relocating to Texas.”

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton later stated, “Boycotting states based on nothing more than political disagreement breaks down the ability of states to serve as laboratories of democracy while still working together as one nation — the very thing our Constitution intended to prevent.”

There’s a reason more than 1.7 million verified signatures were collected for a recall vote against California Governor Gavin Newsom. No matter how ridiculous the state’s leaders are, most voters are not in favor of what they see. Most Americans simply want to enjoy freedom, even if they’re more likely to vote Democrat.

You don’t see conservative led states banning state-funded travel to other states. Why is it that only liberal California is making such an issue toward other states?

As with many political issues, it only takes following the money to see where the trail ends. Funding for LGBTQ+ pours into the accounts of certain California Democrats, leading to actions that better represent funders rather than the state’s residents. This is also part of the explanation of why a travel ban is more likely in California than in South Dakota. The financing influences the functioning of government.

California may not like another state’s laws, but banning state-funded travel will do nothing but backfire. With Newsom’s recall election looming, Democrats would be better off showing they still embrace freedom for the state’s voters.

Instead, they’re doubling down on woke policies that do nothing to help people in their own state. Voters will soon decide whether they’ve had enough, or whether they’ll settle for more of the same from the Left’s liberal playbook.
