The Trump Charlottesville hoax has been one of the biggest things that the media has relied on to push their “Trump is racist” agenda – and they just admitted that they’ve been LYING the WHOLE TIME!
Democrats and their media allies gave birth to a blatantly false narrative by claiming that Trump called neo-Nazis and White supremacists “very fine people.”
This was a lie.
What actually happened was a “Unite the Right” rally took place to protest the removal of a Confederate statue.
Trump was asked about this rally and he said that the protesters fighting the removal of a piece of American history had a point and noted that this was a slippery slope.
He said “you had people, that were very fine people— on both sides. You had people in that group— Excuse me, excuse me,” he said as a reporter interrupted him. “I saw the same pictures as you did. You had people in that group that were there to protest the taking down of— to them— a very, very important statue and the renaming of a park from Robert E. Lee to another name.”
Trump was saying that there were good people on both sides of this argument and he would explicitly clarify that he was NOT talking about Nazis or White supremacists.
“You had people—and I’m not talking about the Neo Nazis and the white nationalists, because they should be condemned totally, but you had many people in that group other than neo-Nazis and white nationalists, okay, and the press has treated them absolutely unfairly.”
Trump was standing up for the people who were upset about the editing away of American history, who the liberal media attempted to smear as “neo-Nazis.”
He added, “Now, in the other group, also, you had some fine people, but you also had troublemakers, and you see them come with the black outfits and with the helmets and with the baseball bats. You had a lot of bad people in the other group, too.”
Trump’s message could not have been more clear – condemning bad actors on BOTH sides of the political spectrum but the media was salivating at the opportunity to twist this one around.
A reporter asked “are you saying the press has treated white nationalists unfairly?”
“No,” Trump clarified AGAIN.
The left didn’t care one bit. They pointed to the “very fine people” line and insisted that Trump was a racist. Fact-checker Snopes helped them spread this lie and just admitted to doing so.
“No,” Snopes announced finally, “Trump did not call neo-Nazis and white supremacists ‘very fine people.”
Realizing that they’ve lost ALL credibility with the American people, the extreme leftists over at Snopes are backpedaling on their “orange man bad” agenda.
But the damage is already done.
In the 2020 election cycle, Biden repeated the claim that Trump supported neo-Nazis and EVEN pointed to it as the very reason he launched his presidential campaign!
“When we heard the words of the President of the United States that stunned the world and shocked the conscience of this nation. He said there were ‘some very fine people on both sides.’ ‘Very fine people on both sides’? With those words, the President of the United States assigned a moral equivalency between those spreading hate and those who have the courage to stand against it. In that moment, I knew the threat to this nation was unlike any I’ve ever seen in my lifetime,” Biden’s statement said at the time.
All the left does is LIE, it’s their only strategy and this should serve as yet another example of why these anti-American tyrants simply can not be trusted.
